Motiv Hire have many years of experience in supplying hired equipment to customers for Industry, Construction, Leisure, and Domestic use.

The company was originally started by Nigel Hughes in the mid 1970’s as a trailer manufacturing company which was incorporated in 1982 as Trailers and Components Ltd. Customer demand for both trailers to buy and hire evolved in time into a hire company for Machinery, Trailers and Light Commercial vehicles as well as the built in flexibility to accommodate special equipment for short-term and long-term regular contracts.

The company history turned another corner as the new brand “Motiv Trailers” with Tim Hughes “the next generation” at the helm followed by the re-branding of the entire hire fleet to Motiv Hire in 2015.

Trailer manufacturing and sales are still a main activity, and we are able to offer new and used trailers from all the major manufacturers alongside our own Motiv brand products, trailer design and bespoke build service.

Started as a hire service for customers in the Shropshire area we have now grown as Motiv Hire to offer nationwide hire of top-quality Trailers, Machines and Vehicles. As the company has grown and expanded, so has our knowledge and network of contacts. One of our unique features is the fact that even if our kit will not suit the task, we probably know someone who can help.

Customers can be assured that their job will be understood and the hired equipment will be suited to the requirement, well presented and reliable whether it be a one day hire of a mini digger to work in the garden or a contract hire of a long wheelbase van doing 70,000 miles a year. The same attention to detail will apply to get the job done and we are a phone call away in case of problems.

Regular safety checks, routine maintenance and statutory examinations are carried out in our own workshops, so we understand the products we offer. These facilities are also available for customers own trailers and machinery maintenance needs at very reasonable rates.
